Telephoning
your doctor

You can contact your doctor by telephoning the clinic during normal surgery hours. Depending on the circumstances, the receptionist will either take a message and have the doctor return your call, or will put you through to talk with the doctor immediately.

Prescription and Referral Requests

Telephone requests for repeat prescriptions will only be written at your doctors discretion. We require that at least 24 hours notice be given for a prescription to be available. Referral to a specialist will always require a consultation.

Reminder System

Our practice is committed to preventive care. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventive health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system please let us know at reception.

Your Personal
Health Information

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff. This information is available to you upon request.

Problems
& Concerns

We aim to continually improve our services. We believe that problems of any sort are best dealt with by the clinic, and we always would wish to know if you were unhappy with any aspect of our service. It is preferable that any problems are brought to the attention of our Business Manager Kurt Shaw in person, over the phone or in writing.

Clinic Information

Making an Appointment
The clinic operates by appointments. We encourage you to make an appointment to see a particular doctor in order to allow continuity of care. We endeavour to keep 'on the day only' appointments for emergency consultations.

The doctors aim to see patients on time, although medical emergencies and acute injuries will receive immediate attention.

If you have a complicated problem that may take more time with the doctor, please tell the receptionist when making your appointment so we may book a longer appointment.

After Hours Care
Emergency after hours care for our patients is provided by a locum service. If you call our usual telephone number outside our opening hours, you will be advised of the number to ring for the locum service. For locum service please call 9429 5677.

Home Visits & Nursing Home Visits
Home visits, for those who live locally, are available for regular patients of the clinic who are too ill to attend the surgery. Home visits are generally performed during lunchtime and after the clinic has closed in the evening. Visits are also made to local nursing homes and hostels.
